Good afternoon,
With Thanksgiving only a few days away, I want to say thank you to the entire Felicity Schools staff for all they have done this school year to keep our students safe and in our buildings learning. I also want to say thank you to our students and our families as they have teamed with us to keep Felicity Schools open for students to attend every day.
I am sure you have heard through the media all the data and warnings promoting safe practices during the holiday season. I would ask that all of us remain mindful and diligent in keeping our students, staff, and community safe.
The safer we keep each other, the more likely we are to keep our school doors open for daily, in-person learning. We will be able to have winter sports and activities. We will be able to provide our students the best school experience possible, given these strange and challenging times. Let’s continue to work together to keep Felicity Schools open.
Thank you, and have safe and happy Thanksgiving

Lynchburg is not allowing spectators at tonight's boys basketball scrimmage. We plan on sending info out tomorrow with instructions on how to purchase tickets for Friday's game.

Good Afternoon Cardinal Families
Although there is no intent at this time to move our students to the remote learning platform, I do feel it is prudent for our district to continue to plan and prepare should it be necessary. As a part of that planning, Felicity Schools will have a “remote learning practice day” on Tuesday, December 8th.
Students in grades K-12 will stay home on December 8th and will follow the remote learning expectations that have been both posted and E-mailed. Students will return to school on Wednesday, December 9th. At that time, we will be able to assess any technology issues and work toward potential solutions.
There is still work to be done between now and December 8th. We are working on a plan for iPad/Chromebook distribution in the elementary. We will be collecting information from students/families, regarding internet accessibility etc. We will be releasing our food delivery plan prior to the 8Th.
It is very important that your student(s) actively participate in this practice day. Teachers and administrators will take what we learn from the practice day to improve the remote learning experience for our students. Felicity-Franklin Schools, though hopeful we won’t have to move to remote, is committed to providing a quality remote learning experience for both students and families.

Happy Monday. Please take a moment to read this week's FFMS newsletter. Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving.

Good Afternoon, Cardinal Families.
Please find the attached Remote Learning Expectations. This is only an informational document so that parents and students may know the expectations of a remote learning environment, should the district have to go remote in the future. I once again want to emphasize that, at this time, there is NO intent OR a specific future date that the district intends to move students to a remote learning environment. This is solely an informational document. This document can also be found on the district website under news.

Counselor Quote of the Day: Every single day is a good day no matter how bright or dark it is, because it always brings an opportunity to start a positive beginning in your life.

Good Afternoon Cardinal Families.
You may be aware that New Richmond Schools are planning to go to a remote learning model for their students beginning Nov. 23 and will remain on that model until Dec. 7. I am also confident that you have heard of other districts moving to remote learning.
At this time, Felicity Schools are remaining open for students to attend every day. Due to the uncertainty of the current virus spread, this is subject to change in a very short period of time. With this in mind, the district will be releasing a detailed remote learning plan. This plan will explain, in detail, the expectations for students, parents, and staff, should we move to a remote learning model for our students. It is my goal to have this plan to you by tomorrow (Thurs. Nov. 19).
Like any plan, and certainly during these times, there will be scenarios that do not fit neatly inside it. Please know that, by working with your building principals and myself, we will solve unanticipated problems.
Because remote learning is a possibility down the road, it is important that we know families are fully prepared to move to this model, if necessary. Please contact the front office of your child’s school if your family needs assistance in accessing WiFi service (hotspots).
Once again, I want to emphasize that Felicity Schools are not moving to, nor is there an anticipated date, to move to a remote learning model at this time.

Next Tuesday, October 20th will be ACT Prep day at FFHS. At a young age, it is often really difficult to know what your future plans might actually be. Even if you think you know, you'll probably change your mind, or you'll need to change your mind to be successful in an ever-changing world. Doing your best on the ACT test can help you create more possibilities and find the right school or trade. To help you prepare for anything it is best that you practice first! So, FFHS is dedicating valuable time to helping you do just that.
8th & 9th Grade students will be taking the ACT Aspire test on their Chromebooks.
10th Grade will be taking the Pre-ACT (Paper Test just like the ACT, but tuned into where sophomores should be).
11th Grade will be taking a Practice ACT/the Torch Launch Test (paper) and will be participating in the Torch Prep ACT Test sessions in February, just prior to the actual ACT.

Good Afternoon Cardinal Families,
I want to compliment and thank the parents, students, and staff for all you are doing to keep yourselves and everyone else safe and healthy, as well as keep our buildings open. Though we had some issues at the very start of the school year, I believe district protocols and your support in following those protocols have allowed Felicity Schools to remain open and moving forward.
Of course, it is easy for us to begin to relax when things are going well. Now is the time to stay focused so that we can keep our students in school. Here are a couple of reminders:
· Parents who are dropping off or picking up students, if you are out of a vehicle, please wear a mask and maintain social distancing of six feet.
· Stay diligent with student health checks at home. If you have any questions or concerns, please call and we will be happy to help.
· Make sure your student has a mask every day.
Despite all the challenges, we have had a great start to our school year. Our students and staff are working hard, and our students are learning. All of us working together is making this possible. Please keep up the great work.

Good Afternoon Cardinal Families. I am pleased to share that Felicity Schools has been awarded a Coronavirus Relief Funds – Broadband Ohio Connectivity Grant in the sum of $151,446.00. This grant money is earmarked to provide and/or improve high speed internet access to the families of the district. The district will be purchasing high speed internet equipped iPads, hot spots, and will be expanding the school WiFi outside of the building. Later this afternoon I will be emailing a survey to parents and also posting a link to the survey on the district website. It is extremely important that each family fill out and submit the survey. The district will use the information gathered to determine how to best deploy the new technology. I realize we gathered similar information last spring. However, we want to make sure our information is current and accurate.

Counselor Quote of the Day: Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Tonight's (8/18) tennis match against Bethel has been rescheduled to Monday 8-24.

Good Afternoon Cardinal Families. Felicity Schools will be having a virtual Open House, this Thursday, Aug. 20 from 5:30-7:00. Good Afternoon Cardinal Families.
In May, the district released a virtual graduation ceremony and established August 9th as a date for an in-person/public graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, due to the current concerns and restriction surrounding COVID 19, the district will not be able to have an in-person/public ceremony. Regrettably, the August 9 ceremony is canceled.
I want to thank all of our seniors for what they have done for and meant to Felicity Schools. I wish them all the very best of luck in their future endeavors.
Dave Gibson, Superintendent

Hello Again Cardinal Families,
I’m sure the Governor’s order regarding mask requirements has added to your questions about the Return to School Plan.
I shared with you that the plan was subject to change and there were additional details to be worked out. I also stated that I wanted parents to have information so they could decide how they wanted their student(s) educated this fall.
I am working on a FAQ document with the goal of releasing it next week. Please know that even after its initial release, the FAQ document will be updated on a regular basis.
I understand that many questions still exist. I assure you that I am working to get you as many answers as possible as quickly as possible.
Thank you
Dave Gibson

Please realize that this plan is based on today’s information and is subject to change. It is also important to note that there are still many details to be worked out regarding the day to day operations. We are releasing the plan as it exists today in hopes that you as parents/guardians have the details needed to begin your decision making process to determine if you are sending your student(s) to school this August.
I will be releasing updated information and day to day operation details over the next several weeks. Please check your email and our communications platforms on a regular basis.
Felicity Schools has been and continues to be committed to providing your students with the highest quality education in a safe environment.
Thank you in advance for your support and patience.
Sincerely,
Dave Gibson, Superintendent

Counselor Quote of the Day: Be humble. Be hungry. And always be the hardest worker in the room.

Good Morning Cardinal Families,
I hope this email finds you all safe and healthy. I would like to give you a quick update on the Felicity Return to School Plan.
Over the last several weeks I have been meeting regularly with all of the superintendents in Clermont County. The Clermont County health department has participated in each of those meetings. I have also met twice with the Grant superintendents. We have spent a great deal of time trying to align, as much as possible, our individual district plans. I have met with leadership from both the teacher’s association and the classified staff association. The Board of Education had a work session last Thursday, and we have surveyed both staff and parents. All of this is an attempt to create a return to school plan that has all students attend school every day in August in an environment that is as safe as we can make it.
The Board of Education will vote this evening to approve the current plan. On Tuesday or Wednesday I will release the plan to the public. Please understand there are still many details that need to be figured out. However, I wanted to get you as many details as possible so you can begin planning for August.
Due to the ever changing nature of the situation we are in, there is a reality that the details of the plan may change. I am asking that you keep a close eye on your email and our district information system. You will be receiving updates throughout the remainder of the summer.
Thanks
David R. Gibson

The regular July Board of Education meeting will begin at 6:00 pm this evening, beginning with the Superintendent & Treasurer's evaluation, followed immediately by the regular business of the board. The meeting will be held in the High School Wifi Cafe.
