Dear Families,
This morning at approximately ~8:20 a.m., the fire alarm was activated at the High School due to smoke caused by a faulty HVAC fan motor. Both Washington and Franklin Township Fire Departments promptly responded, and all Junior High and High School students and staff safely and efficiently exited the building. Students and staff made their way to the bus barn in order to get out of the elements.
Elementary students remained safely on their buses under the supervision of bus drivers while the fire department investigated. The fire department confirmed there was no evidence of flames, and the building was cleared for reentry.
Thanks to the quick response and collaboration of teaching, maintenance, custodial, support staff, and administration, all students were accounted for and returned to the building by ~8:40 a.m.
We appreciate the continued support of our fire departments and the cooperation of students and staff in ensuring everyone’s safety. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Bob Walker, Superintendent FFLSD

FCCLA is so thankful to offer free items to the high school students for HOCO! We are thankful for the 75 dresses that the community donated. We are thankful for the volunteers who gave their entire day to help students and we are especially thankful for the smiles of gratitude that lit up the room! Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we learned from reading Charlie Brown"Thanksgiving isn't just about eating. We should be thankful for being together. That's what Thanksgiving is all about."

Mrs. Stephens first graders make Turkey Traps as a stem activity! They made a plan, designed a trap, tested it, made changes and presented to the class! They used pipe cleaner, string, tape and cardboard! They were all very creative and worked cooperatively in their groups!! Great job by all.
